About Domain Name Deletion Dates & CO.UK drop dates
Domain names that are allowed to expire go through several stages before once again
becoming available for registration. For co.uk domains, administered by
Nominet, domain owners are given a week long redemption period and allowed
to renew their domain registration.
Following the seven day redemption period, Nominet will send an pro forma invoice
by email and post, but this will be for the full domain price, rather than the reduced
price that a domain registrant would pay through their registrar.
If this invoice is not paid within 30 days, the co.uk domain will enter the suspended
state for sixty days, where all services connected to the domain name will cease
- the domain cannot be renewed during this time. After the sixty days, the domain
will be set to expire. This process results in two potential drop dates, ninety-two
days and ninety-nine days after the expiry date of the domain.
To check a domin name's expiry date, and both drop dates, enter the domain below
and click 'check domain'.
