Alexa rank

A hierachial ranking system used by Alexa, measured by use of the Alexa toolbar and other unknown sources.

The Alexa rank provides a number, giving the position of that website, where the most popular website as measured by Alexa appears at number one. Alexa also provides a rank for each website within a number of it's most popular countries.

Similarly to Google PageRank, the Alexa rank is not of any particular importance, and should only be considered in context. The demographic of Alexa toolbar users is not balanced, so the Alexa rank should simply serve as an interesting view on a website's popularity.

Alexa rank is a definition, listed in the computing category. This entry was created on 25 October 2008, at 17:56 , and was last updated on 25 October 2008, at 17:56.
