dmoz

dmoz, from directory.mozilla.org, also known as the Open Directory, is a large human edited directory of website links and brief descriptions. In the past it has been seen as essential to have a website listed in the directory, but more recently its benefits are harder to see. It is now largely seen as out-dated, and archaic.

A typical listing in the directory takes some time, commonly several weeks, but often over a month, or not at all. Given the non-commercial nature of the Open Directory, no notification is given as to whether inclusion is successful or not.

dmoz is a definition, listed in the search engine optimisation category. This entry was created on 03 November 2008, at 13:15 , and was last updated on 13 January 2009, at 21:02.
