Nofollow

The nofollow attribute can be added to a link tag, in order to prevent participating search engines from following that link. Nofollow is now supported by all the major search engines - Google, Bing and Yahoo, as well as others. Nofollow prevents a search engine following a link, in order to prevent contributing to a websites incoming link count, reputation, or in the case of Google, PageRank.

Despite popular belief, using the nofollow tag does not allow more link juice to be passed to other links on the page. It simply prevents this reputation being passed to the nofollowed link.

The nofollow attribute should be added as: rel="nofollow".
