PageSense

PageSense is an advertising system, developed by Phorm, used to deliver targeted adverts to a website viewer, through their ISP. In it's current form it is seen to be illegal, unless changed to an opt-in only system.

With the current system, even a user who has opted out, would still pass all of their website requests through the Phorm computer systems.

PageSense works by mirroring a requested website on Phorm's computer systems, adding adverts that are seen as relevent to the user being tracked.

A leaked report shows that BT carried out a test of the PageSense system on tens of thousands of their broadband customers without permission.

PageSense is a definition, listed in the security category.
