Spyware
Spyware is a type of malware, used to observe a computer and its users. While capabilities of spyware vary, it is often used to record passwords and personal information.
Like viruses, spyware is created for fun or for profit. Spyware can potentially allow the creator access to the affected computer, allowing them to view and copy files.
Spyware often arrives in the form of a trojan, masquerading as a legitimate piece of software.
